Adding borders:

Once you have manipulated and enhanced your image and are satisfied that it cannot be improved, it is time to print out the image, but before you do it can still be improved. With the addition of a simple border or frame the image can be presented as complete.

There are a number of ways to add borders to prints, the simplest is to simply add a single or double black line around the image:

1 Increasing canvas size,

First select 'Image > Canvas size' and then increase the canvas size by 3 pixels. You have once last choice that of the colour, make sure you choose an appropriate subtle colour that will enhance the image, I normally chose black.

Next, to make the border still more interesting, repeat the above process two more times, but on the second occasion choose white as the colour, then on the third choose black again.

This will give a plain but professional border, of two thin black lines separated by a single white line. You can vary the size in which you increase the canvas size, to produce a consistent personalised border for all of your images. To complete the process simply save this as an action so that you can simply replicate this for all of your images.
