Mono Beauty,

This image was taken at the Whitby Goth Festival in April 2007. A quieter weekend than the main event in October each year. Still the whole town is taken over by Goths from all over the UK and further a field.

I positioned this lady against the corner of a wall to both isolate her from the crowds, but also to use the converging lines of the wall to create a very dynamic background. I requested her to put her hands on her hips in a dominant pose. The only manipulation I did, was to change the image to monochrome and then tone her skin and hair a little to make her stand out.
