Model

This was taken using studio flash at a camera club portrait workshop, all the models were friends and family of members and none of the victims / volunteers had any experience of modeling.

I chose to use two flashes for the portrait and framed tightly to give me a classic head and shoulders image. I worked on the image in photoshop not because the model needed any help, she cetainly didn't, but to put into practice some techniques for improving portraits. I created additional layers and adjustment layers to increase colour saturation in her lips and eye makeup. I also increased the brightness in her eyes and teeth to add impact to the study. Lastly I reduced the saturation of the background as I found this not only distracting but a little dated, I am working on the other club members to replace this with a plain background for next year!
