Longstone Lighthouse, Farne Isles.

The Longstone Lighthouse, or Outer Farne as it was first called, is situated on Longstone Rock, one of the Outer Staple Islands in the beautiful Farne Islands. It is most famous for the daring rescue of survivors of the Forfarshire shipwreck by the Lighthouse Keeper and his daughter, William and Grace Darling, in 1838. 

I wanted to produce an infra red effect on this image, as I was impressed with the  dramatic cloud formation. I converted the image to monochrome in photoshop's channel mixer, then increased the green channel and reduced the other two. I also added an additional layer and added noise  to give it the typical infra red grain.
