This was taken at Aydon Castle
Northumberland during a re-enactment of the War of the Roses. The 'Soldiers of the Roses' dressed up in period costume and put on numerous displays within the grounds of the fortified manor house.

I used flash on camera to fill in the shadows of the lady. However I wanted to catch some movement in her hands as she speedily went about 'knitting her hat'. I set the flash to rear curtain synchronisation so that the blurred movement kept behind the sharp image of her hands.
