Iguana, Although not a native animal, this photograph was taken at an animal sanctuary in Co. Durham, that rescues and re-houses abandoned and mistreated pets. The photograph was taken through the bars of a cage, I placed the camera close to the bars and used a very shallow depth of field and managed to completely hide all traces of the cage. I have found this to be a very good technique to use in all zoos and animal parks, whether trying to take a photograph of a large mammal or small reptile. By zooming in close and cropping out all traces of the enclosure you can still produce naturalistic images. Pentax *ist D Sigma 70 - 300mm lens. |
