Dad.

This photograph of my father was taken in bright sunshine during a family visit to the seaside. I wanted to concentrate attention on my father and deliberately chose to frame tightly to remove all distractions from the background. The bright white background is in fact the wall of a lighthouse.

Although taken in bright midday sunshine, I managed to use a white picnic table as a make shift reflector to bounce light back into my fathers face. I metered for the shadow areas, illuminated by the reflected light and let the highlights, illuminated by the sun, burn out.
