Biography I have been taking photographs for over 25 years ever since my teenage years. Throughout this long apprenticeship I have remained a keen amateur with my main interest being in nature photography. However more recently, after re-discovering my local camera club, my photographic interests have widened. I joined Hexham and District Photographic Society in 1999 after visiting their annual summer exhibition in the town's Moot Hall. I have been an active member of the club ever since and as a result have seen my photographic knowledge and appetite increase, however I will let you judge whether this is reflected in my images. In 2002 I also joined Consett and District Photographic Society and in 2003 I became a judge and a lecturer on the Northern Counties Photographic Federation club circuit. Also in 2003 I began entering competitions outside my club, my first success was in Weardale Agricultural Show Photographic Competition. Since then I have had work accepted in a number of National and International competitions, my greatest successes to date being winning the 2005 National Police Photographic Colour Print competition and the 2005 Tallaght International Digital Photographic Competition. Living in the North East of England I am lucky to have so many great locations close by:- Northumberland with its beautiful beaches and moorland including the best parts of Hadrian's wall, County Durham's North Pennines with its high moorland and superb dales villages, also the Lake District, Scottish Borders and the Yorkshire Dales and Moors are all only 11/2 hours away. All of these areas give me a variety of beautiful landscapes and interesting habitats to work in and this has meant that most of my best images have been taken within a few miles of my home.
