Newcastle-Gateshead
In common with most cities in the United Kingdom, Newcastle and Gateshead have seen widespread redevelopment in recent years and a proliferation of public art and interesting buildings. The joint riverside developments are probably the most interesting in the whole country, with an Art museum (the Baltic) a Music centre (the Sage) and the world famous Millennium bridge. As a North Easterner I am probably biased but I can certainly recommend a visit to the joint cities and the wider area, you will not be disappointed.
