St. Cuthbert statue - situated inside St Mary the Virgin Church, on Lindisfarne.

This is a close up of one of the wooden figures carrying the coffin of St. Cuthbert, which is located inside the tiny church. It is a roughly sculptured statue but I was attracted by the texture of the wood matching the texture of the skin of the people. 

I have converted the image to monochrome and toned the image to remove the very slight colour in the original image. This I believe concentrates the viewers attention on the grain of the wood which acts like contours over the surface of the statue.
