Horse (Equus caballus) 

For centuries horses have been one of the most economically important domesticated animals, especially relied upon for farmwork and for transportation. Their importance declined following the introduction of mechanisation. 

Today most horses in the UK are not worked as such but used for social or sporting riding. Hundreds of distinct breeds have been developed, allowing horses to be specialized for certain tasks; lighter horses for racing or riding, heavier horses for farming and other tasks requiring pulling power. 

Horses and humans have lived and worked together for thousands of years and an extensive specialized vocabulary has arisen to describe virtually every horse behavioral and anatomical characteristic with a high degree of precision.

These two horses live on a nearby farm and are kept purely for riding, they are obviously used to humans and were keen to approach me and follow me as I moved around the perimeter of their field. 

I decided to use an extreme wide angle lens and get right down to ground level and look up at the horses. Although the lens distorted the horses head I think it makes for a very interesting image and shows off their inquisitive nature.
